Leisure centres and swimming pools should comply with strict legislation and require the minimum of maintenance despite heavy usage.
We offer a wide range of door systems manufactured from glass fibre reinforced polyester (GRP) for swimming pools and changing areas. GRP doors contain no organic materials and have a pressure moulded fully encapsulated smooth seamless construction which is easy to clean, impervious to water and unaffected by steam, chlorine and most chemicals or cleaning agents.
Doors for the leisure industry need to withstand heavy usage while being strong, durable & lightweight. They also need to be hygienic and aesthetically pleasing. Our unique GRP range meets and exceeds these requirements and are fire tested and certified up to 5 hours to European (EN 1634-1) standards. All the doors have a contemporary look to them and offer total uniformity of appearance.
Dortek strongly believes that GRP doors are far more hygienic and therefore appropriate for leisure centres than timber, laminate or steel doors which are still sometimes used. Timber doors are organic, not suitable for wet areas, and unhygienic as a result. Laminate doors can delaminate and are heavier and also not suitable for wet areas. Steel doors can rust, are heavy to operate and costly to repair.
Dortek’s GRP doors should therefore be specified wherever hygienic doors for leisure facilities (and especially in wet areas) are required.
