Processing over two billion litres of milk a year Arla continues to be one of the UK’s leading dairy companies and a supplier of fresh liquid milk and cream to the top seven retailers.
Behind this leading business is a team of over 3,000 people located at dairies, distribution centres and head office across the UK.
Arla designed its first Greenfield UK facility in 2002 as a flagship project. Hygiene and aesthetics were hugely important as this is a showcase site for Arla customers.
Solution
Arla evaluated a wide range of door alternatives. Dortek, although having no history with Arla have a long rack record with Glanbia, Robert Wiseman, Unilever and Cadburys in the UK & Ireland and were selected directly by Arla after rigorous assessment.
180 doors were installed by Dortek in phase 1 completed in 2004, followed by phase 2 in 2005 and phase 3 in 2008/2009.
Dortek were also chosen by Arla for their Lockerbie facility in 2005.
