Barts and The London NHS Trust is one of Britain’s top teaching hospital trusts. This site is a new purpose built Pharmacy and Pathology Building to serve all 3 hospitals in the trusts area.
The £52m ‘gold standard’ facility aimed to streamline and consolidate all services under one roof, ensuring the latest process and technology were utilized to the maximum benefit of patients.
Solution
Our hygienic doors, which were ordered by critical facilites contractor Thermal Transfer, were installed in the facilities Pharmaceuticals Production Suite.
The redevelopment programme meant that the former Pharmacy was to vacate it’s premises and re locate to this state of the art suite with a significantly increased capacity.
With no joints or ledges where dirt or germs can gather our GRP doors are ideal where optimum levels of hygiene are and ease of cleaning and disinfection are of high importance.
Doors were manufactured in ‘Canary Yellow’ with extra large vision panels to ensure a light and spacious feel and incorporated electric automations actuated by hygienic touchless sensors. Interlocking mechanisms with status indicators were utilized to ensure effective air pressure control.
Dortek supplied, installed and commissioned the complete door, doorframe, ironmongery, automation and interlocking package.
