Requirements
Takeda is the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan. Employing 14,500 people worldwide, Takeda discovers, develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of products.
They required a door solution for their new build manufacturing facility in Ireland. Located at the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Business Park at Grange Castle in Clondalkin Dublin the site is Takeda’s first API plant constructed outside Japan.
Solution
Dortek was brought in by the client as part of a new build project.
Doors chosen for the facility included fire rated hinged and sliding GRP doors as well as MF5 hermetically sealing bi-parting doors.
The MF5’s patented track system allows the door to move down/in under its own weight and in conjunction with a continuous neoprene gasket seals perfectly against the floor and frame.
The seal is officially tested to 99% efficiency, reducing air handling costs as well reducing the chances of cross contamination.
Automations were required on doors including automatic hold open automations. A pneumatic interlinked system with audio and visual alarms was also used.
