The Dortek range of GRP doors (glass reinforced polyester) complies with all the latest Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP) requirements in pharmaceutical and nutritional facilities. Dortek GRP doors have a pressure moulded encapsulated smooth seamless construction which is easy to clean, is completely unnaffected by water or moisture and does not harbour bacteria due to its non-porous smooth finish. A clear benefit of using GRP doors is that they stand up to the common cleaning regimes used in a lifescience environment such as Vapourised Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP), disinfectants, detergents and chlorine releasing agents. Dortek GRP doors contain no organic materials that would encourage the growth of bacteria and are made from materials which are fully recyclable.
Dortek’s advanced low energy manufacturing technique delivers an immensely versatile GRP material through moulding and combines light weight with an ultimate tensile strength door, easy to operate and durable. GRP doors are typically 52% lighter than competing steel doors and 42% lighter than similar size laminate doors. This means they are so are much easier to operate and do not wear down hinges and operating devices so quickly. When factoring in life cycle costs, GRP doors are therefore much better value than steel doors. The integrated colour of GRP is aesthetically pleasing and needs little or no maintenance throughout the lifecycle of the product.
Unlike timber or steel doors, a GRP door will not surface peel, warp, swell, rot or rust, even in the most arduous conditions. All GRP doors either meet or surpass regulatory standards for hygiene and are fully compliant with European Norm (EN) fire certification up to 5 Hours. Dortek’s factory is audited on a yearly basis by the German testing authority TUV Sud and many of the facilities which use Dortek GRP doors are Factory Mutual (FM) compliant.
