Vision Panels & Observation Windows

Within a hospital environment, Vision Panels provide a simple yet reliable solution to the problem of balancing the need for staff supervision against a patient’s right to privacy. At the turn of a handle, the vision panels enable controlled observation whilst exceeding the strictest of Infection Control regulations.
For cleanroom, pharmaceutical and research industries, vision panels enable the discreet, controlled monitoring of subjects without inducing undue distress or alarm. All vision panels are specifically designed to resist the harshest of cleaning regimes, especially with the advent of new cleaning technologies such as VHP (Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide).
Obscure
The Obscure range of vision panels has a translucent finish that allows the partial transmission of light without the ability to render detailed images through the window. This effect enables the user to identify personnel approaching from the opposite side of the door whilst maintaining a high level of patient privacy.
Blackout
The provision of an undisturbed environment from external activity is essential in many operating theatres, pharmaceutical laboratories and holding cells. When closed, Blackout vision panels completely block the transmission of light through the window.
Flush Fit
In healthcare, pharmaceutical and research environments alike, hygienic design is of utmost importance. To this end, the removal of ledges and crevices along with material selection is the core feature of the Flush Fit vision panels.
Flush Fit vision panels are custom designed to match the exact door thickness to achieve a seamless, “wipe-down” finish with the door face.
Retro Fit
The Retro Fit version comprises of a privacy vision panel housed within a unique, secret-fix (powder coated metal or stainless steel) frame and enables the upgrading of existing door vision panels to include the switchable privacy afforded by the range of vision panels. The surface mounted unit may be fitted without prior removal of existing glazing, thereby minimizing disruption and reducing installation time. Retro Fit units are often used to provide x-ray and laser protection upgrades to the existing window aperture.
Laser Protection
The patented LaserBloc system provides shielding against all wavelengths of medical laser whilst housed within a sealed glass unit. This brings multiple benefits:
- Allows multiple lasers to be used within the same operating theatre
- Removes the need to predict future laser installations
- Minimum unit thickness of 20mm
- Can be incorporated into any of the models
- Maintains the hygienic design of all vision panels
- Can be interlocked with the laser device for full compliance with Health Building Note (HBN) 52 Pt. 4
X-Ray Protection
All vision panels can include x-ray protection through the use of x-ray shielding glass to the required lead equivalence.
Handles
Vision Panels are available with several operating handle options:
- Handles to one or both sides of the unit, irrespective of unit thickness
- 316 stainless steel or antimicrobial copper alloy
- Lever handle, anti-ligature or key operated types
- Shallow projection handles for sliding doors
